My Personal Page

Hi and welcome to my personal page. I'm Geoff Robertson. I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada with my wife and three children.  My involvement in modeling goes back to when I was a kid. I left the hobby for a while as my interests turned to cars, work and beer. My interest in space however never wavered in that time. It was a chance encounter with the History Makers Mercury Atlas shortly after seeing The Right Stuff that got me back into building again.
Since than my rate of kit purchases has far exceeded my rate of construction and so like a lot of people I have quite a backlog down in the basement. I joined IPMS Edmonton a few years ago and like to think I contribute to the club. Besides building models I enjoy spending time with my family, going to football games and have an interest in astronomy. I have a wobbly old refractor I haul out every now and then. I suppose if I didn't buy so many models I would have a good quality telescope on a sturdy equatorial mount by now, but that's another story.  I do work, I'm the QA and Operations Manager for a valve company.

At Universal Studios with three very wooden actors and the CM was used for the recovery scene in Ron Howard's Apollo 13. The CM is fiberglass and has no back.

Live Long and Prosper: Outside the Vulcan visitors center. Vulcan Alberta that is. Vulcan was named after the mythological character long before Mr. Spock was created, however the town has cashed in on the Star Trek connection. The ears were bought in the gift shop.

Arrrgg!! So many models, so little time.

My Workbench of Horrors

I've done talks at my children's school on space and rockets. The highlight to my "dog and pony show" is the launching of some of my model rockets. A launch is witnessed by the kids and some of their parents.

We have cleared the tower!
